Demo acceptable use policy
The rules for using Vellier's try-it demo companies.
Last updated Monday 19 October 2026
The try-it demos are sample companies that anyone can open from this website. They're shared by every visitor and wiped every night. This policy forms part of our website terms of use.
Once you have your own Vellier account, the Vellier acceptable use policy applies instead.
What the demos are for
Trying Vellier out: clicking around, following the guided tour, making quotes and jobs and seeing how it works for your trade.
Please don't
- Type in real people's details. No real names, addresses, phone numbers, emails or photos of anyone, including your own clients. Other visitors can see what you type until the nightly reset. Use made-up details, like the ones already there.
- Put in anything confidential, such as your real prices, bank details or passwords.
- Write anything offensive, unlawful or abusive, or anything that targets a real person or business.
- Try to get round the demo's limits. Emails, texts, payments, uploads, integrations and sign-in changes are switched off on purpose.
- Try to reach other companies' data, probe for security weaknesses or attack the service. If you think you've found a security problem, please tell us instead.
- Overload it, with scripts, bots, automated clicking or large volumes of requests. The demos have a limit on how many requests one visitor can make.
- Use it for real work. Nothing is kept, and the data is wiped at 3am every night.
- Copy it to build a competing product, or scrape it.
What we may do
We may remove anything that breaks this policy, reset a demo early, block access from a browser or network, or close the demos, without notice. Where it involves something unlawful, we may report it.
Report a problem
If you see something in a demo that shouldn't be there, email [email protected] with "Demo" in the subject.
